Nestling at the mouth of the valley, close to the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck, is the adventure village of A-tz, a true Austrian mountain retreat. The Nature Resort and Activity Centre is perfectly located for easy access to the two local rivers and with some of the best white water in Europe, alpine meadows and mountains for walking and climbing, and valley paths and lakes for biking, swimming and relaxing. Activities are offered for a broad range of ages, abilities and adrenalin levels.
Itinerary:
Day 1 Start Saturday. 2 Activities are booked and paid for with the pre-bookable Adventure Card, which starts you off with 24 points to use as credit against the activities on offer. The card costs an initial price of £116 Adult (14years+) or £100 Child/Youth (3-14 years). For those wishing to take extra activities, extra points can be purchased locally at a cost of ?7 Adult or ?6 Child/Youth. Please note: age restrictions vary depending on activity. 3 Min. age 12 -14 years, depending on trip The Otztaler Ache and the Inn rivers offer some of the finest rafting in all of Austria, and is one of the most popular destinations for white water sports in the Tirol. 4 different rafting options are available: Rafting Blue Water Classic Grade III (easy to medium) 6 points Rafting Blue Water Exclusive Grade III (smaller 4 person rafts) 7 points White Water Professional Grade IV-IV+ (difficult) 8 points (+ Training trip Blue Water) (6 points) River Trekking Grade II (easy difficult, 2 person rafts) 7 points 4 One of the best ways to explore any area is by bike, and this holiday is no exception. Hire a bike for a day, or a half-day, or choose to head out with one of the local guide on one of the organised trips - the points system makes things completely flexible. The soft day is the easier of the two trips with low valley prepared trails and the Sporty ride is a little tougher, with some steeper hill climbs and a longer day. Neither trip is particularly technical. Mountain Biking Soft ½: day Easy 4 points Mountain Biking Sporty 1 day Easy/medium 6 points 5 The perfect opportunity to see your holiday from a new perspective - high up in the air, hanging by your finger tips and boots from the cliffs and ledges of the Inn valley. The Resort even has its own climbing tower for those who want to try the sport without getting too far off the ground, and if you would like to feel the ice crunching under your crampons, you can walk through crevasses and under ice cliffs on the Glacier Safari, No previous experience necessary, but a good level of fitness and comfort with heights is essential. Alternatively, you can take a more leisurely guided mountain hike through alpine meadows and trails in the Otztaler Alpen and valleys. Introduction to Climbing Easy (Climbing Tower Feelfree) 2 points Climbing Route ½: day Medium/Difficult (Fixed route climbing) 6 points Climbing Park ½: day Medium/Difficult (special park) 6 points Glacier Safari ¾ day Easy/Medium 7.5 points Guided Mountain Hike 1 day Easy 4 points 6 16 points Take to the air and soar above the peaks and valleys with one of the local paraglide instructors. Depending on conditions, it's possible to hit 3000m, giving amazing panoramic views of the Otztaler, Stubaier and even Tuxer Alpen. In fact, on a good day, you may be even to see right across to the Gross Glockner - highest peak in Austria. 7 2 points Learn the basics of arching in comfort of the Nature Resort, using targets and under the mentoring of one of their instructors. A relaxing way to spend a couple of hours in the sun. 8 1.5 points Part of the Feelfree Camp complex, this is a 4* luxury relaxation and wellness concept, and well worth a visit after a strenuous few days punishing your body canyoning, climbing and rafting. Sauna and massage bookings should be made on arrival. 9 3.5 points Entrance to the local thermal baths, just up the road at Lagenfeld, can be organised through the Adventure Card. Facilities include swimming in the thermally heating pools, sauna and massage services and a beauty and wellness centre. 10 End Saturday.

Accommodation: Nature Resort & Camp This beautiful resort is an idyllic setting for an Austrian summer holiday. Accommodation is in wooden chalets, built to a high standard using traditional methods. There are one and two bedroom apartments (depending on size of family), with a maximum of 6 beds, all bedrooms with their own shower/wc, and a separate kitchen/diner. Each apartment has a small, sheltered terrace or balcony, opening out onto the resort's central garden. Breakfast is taken in the resort in the "Achstuberl" restaurant, which provides Austrian-style continental breakfasts and typical Tyrolean and Austrian cuisine at lunch or in the evenings, should it be required.
